Aslamo Aleakum to all

Pakistan has experienced a number of floods since 1947. but I am going to tell you about one of the biggest flood of 2010 which resulted in huge lose of people lives, Property, and livestock also. It was originated from bay of bengal. It was resulted due to early monsoon which is still a question for meteorologist how it happened so. some meteorologist call it as a super charge monsoon. I can't forget this event because it was unique and resulted in a huge lose.

Hi,

Most recent significant extreme precipitation event in the Caribbean. The CIMH is currently completing a hydro-meteorological assessment of the event.

Where I grew up in California, USA, droughts are the biggest problem. I was taught to conserve water and brought these habits with me to the other side of the country where I now live in Massachusetts, even though floods are more of a problem here. Last January, the governor of California declared a drought state of emergency (see www.sfgate.com/drought/ for pictures) after 3 years of below average rainfall. However, it's hard to convince people to use less water. Use has actually increased this year despite calls for reductions due to the drought conditions.

Hi everyone,

On the video you can see an extreme storm surge that occurred last winter in Dawlish, Devon. This is just 15 km away from my home in Exeter and often do cycling trips to that beach (yes, there is a nice beach on that place).

The landscape was so transformed by nature that sometimes it even seams unreal that such a event might happen. I think that is why people tend to forget the danger of extreme events.

Dear all,
Although I was born in Madrid, the centre of Spain, my family comes from the southeast of Spain. This region used to suffer a climatologic event called “gota fria” that generate heavy rainfall, which gives rise to increased levels in the rivers and streams of the region and usually produces floods. It happens almost each autumn and produces material damages and sometimes also human losses.
The last flood event happened in September 2012, I let you some images.....

Dear all,

here are two videos about floods in Slovenia in 2007 (flash flood in Železniki) and 2010 (Ljubljana flood).

And here is also one paper dealing with analyses of extreme rainfall and consequent flash flood in 2007:
