Mr. Daniel Twigt (Deltares) will present the webinar on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 (17:00 CET) entitled:
"Operational Forecasting, Delft3D and Delft-FEWS"
Delft-FEWS, a sophisticated collection of modules designed for building operational water management systems, is used around the world for operational forecasting. Increasingly, these Delft-FEWS systems also run Delft3D based models for a range of different applications, like storm surge forecasting, water quality forecasting and forecasting of wave conditions. More detailed info about Delft-FEWS is available on the
Delft-FEWS community website. It is foreseen that components of open source Delft3D and Delft-FEWS will become available via the DRIHM infrastructure.
In this webinar, we will give a brief introduction to Delft-FEWS. Subsequently, we focus on a number of different Delft3D applications in Delft-FEWS, outlining the different ways in which Delft3D is currently used for operational forecasting. Finally, we will give some background information with regard to implementation of Delft3D models in Delft-FEWS.
After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
